Finally. Hopefully this is a solution that everyone can live with.

The Dark Knight returns?
Inspired by the New Yorker’s Simon Rich and my blog hero I present “Things I imagine people saying about me when I was:”
8: “Hey why does that guy have a shirt that says ‘The Vonz’ on it?” “I think its in reference to that Happy Days guy, but his last name is Vaughan, so its kinduva play on words” “That guy’s a dork.”
12: “Why is that guy soaking wet? We’re at a mall for chrissake?” “He just fell in that fountain by the movie theater.” “He did?” “Yeah he was trying to impress some girl but accidentally fell in.” “That guy’s a dork.”
13: “That guy looks different.” “Yeah I know, something is different.” “Yeah can’t place it though.” “I got it.” “He washed his hair.” “That’s it.” “Yeah that guy’s a dork.”
15: “Look at that guy with curly hair.” “Yeah I think he just got a perm. He said he wanted to look like Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon.” “That guy’s a dork.”
Had a good time on Saturday night by raising money for Big Brother’s Big Sister’s. It was a good chance for me and my friends to get together, have fun, and raise some awareness that there are kids out there who don’t neccesarily need money but need a helping hand. That being said, we were able to raise 250.00 dollars. The biggest hit at the party was the little kid in the middle with his belly showing. Even at this early age, he was dancin and mackin for the ladies. We made a difference this weekend and had fun doing it.
I’m not really much of a Harry Potter fan. I read the first three books but got interested in other things (same thing happened after the first three Dune books). It was around 8pm and I started thinking about going to the opening at midnight to our local(albeit corporate book store). Why? I think it’s because if fellow geeks are having fun, I wanna be a part of it. So I show up straight up at midnight. Madhouse! The entire parking lot was full and this parking lot covers for around 20 stores. I had to park across the street at Walmart/Lowes. I got a photo of some really tall guy dressed like Hagrid as he was the only real distinguishing figure in a sea of Potter geeks. Something took hold of me. I was going to just turn around and go home after about a half hour but just felt to make the evening complete, I’d buy the book. So 2 and a half hours later at the break of 2:30 am, I walked out with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows in hand.
I started this as an effort to bring more geek to the people but so far, people are bringing more geek back to me.
To echo the past:
I am today announcing my candidacy for the Presidency of the United States.
I do not run for the presidency merely to oppose any man but to propose new policies. I run because I am convinced that this country is on a perilous course and because I have such strong feelings about what must be done, and I feel that I’m obliged to do all that I can.
I run to seek new policies – policies to end the bloodshed in Iraq and in our cities, policies to close the gaps that now exist between black and white, between rich and poor, between young and old, in this country and around the rest of the world.
I run for the presidency because I want the United States of America to stand for hope instead of despair, for reconciliation of men instead of the growing risk of world war.
I run because it is now unmistakably clear that we can change these disastrous, divisive policies only by changing the men who are now making them. For the reality of recent events in Iraq has been glossed over with illusions.
The crisis of the globe, the crisis in our cities, the crisis in our farms and in our ghettos have all been met with too little and too late.
Why me? Why not me? Why not you for that matter? Do you have a voice? Do you want to be heard? Well let me hear your voice. Do you believe like I do that things need to be done and people need to be helped? Well then help me make a difference. After all, a difference is dying to be made.
In the end, I cannot stand aside from the contest that will decide our nation’s future and our children’s future.
But now that the fight is on and over policies which I have long been challenging, I must enter the race. The fight is just beginning and I believe that I can win …
I do not lightly dismiss the dangers and the difficulties of challenging both parties. But these are not ordinary times and this is not an ordinary election.
At stake is not simply the leadership of a party or even our country. And if God exists, may he/she/it help us all.

“Well yeah, that's the thing.” --
