I’m not really much of a Harry Potter fan. I read the first three books but got interested in other things (same thing happened after the first three Dune books). It was around 8pm and I started thinking about going to the opening at midnight to our local(albeit corporate book store). Why? I think it’s because if fellow geeks are having fun, I wanna be a part of it. So I show up straight up at midnight. Madhouse! The entire parking lot was full and this parking lot covers for around 20 stores. I had to park across the street at Walmart/Lowes. I got a photo of some really tall guy dressed like Hagrid as he was the only real distinguishing figure in a sea of Potter geeks. Something took hold of me. I was going to just turn around and go home after about a half hour but just felt to make the evening complete, I’d buy the book. So 2 and a half hours later at the break of 2:30 am, I walked out with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows in hand.
I started this as an effort to bring more geek to the people but so far, people are bringing more geek back to me.
